Gosheven has been amazed by the 'Are'are panpipe ensemble recordings collected by the ethnomusicologist Hugo Zemp in Malaita, Solomon Islands. He encountered these treasures in an article written by György Ligeti and after listening to the first tunes his mind was blown away and his heart felt completely broken. Today this extremely rich and fragile musical culture is on the verge of extinction.

Little by little Gosheven dug deep into their music and tried to understand its basic features as opposed to the common Western concepts. After years of extensive research this record presents a selection of his compositions as a dedication to their unparalleled culture. Nonetheless they in no way represent 'Are'are culture, only show the different states of Gosheven's adventurous lucid dreaming through the otherworldly, unique and fragile.

As a first step of this research he recorded "Proto Equiheptatonic Music" where he used the theoretical equiheptatonic (seven equal steps) tuning which is a close approximation of the 'Are'are’s musical DNA:
The next step was "Pseudo Equiheptatonic Music" where he used the exact tuning system of their recorded panpipe ensembles:

"Antipodal Polyphony" is the final and most comprehensive outcome of his research featuring each tuning of the four panpipe ensemble types - namely 'au tahana, 'au keto, 'au taka'iori and 'au paina - and injecting them into Gosheven's transcendent apocalyptic world.
